Please read these terms carefully before using the Laurel platform.

By accessing or using the Laurel platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization (such as a school), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Laurel is a cloud-based school management platform that provides tools for student information management, academic records, attendance tracking, fee management, communication, and related educational administration services. The Service is provided "as is" and we continuously work to improve and expand its features.
To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You agree to: (a) use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms; (b) not use the Service to store or transmit malicious code; (c) not interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service; (d) not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems; (e) comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding data protection and privacy; (f) ensure that all data entered into the Service is accurate and that you have the right to provide such data.
You retain all ownership rights to the data you input into the Service ("Your Data"). By using the Service, you grant Laurel a limited, non-exclusive license to use, process, and store Your Data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. We will not access, use, or share Your Data for any purpose other than providing the Service, unless required by law or with your explicit consent.
The Service, including its original content, features, functionality, design, and underlying technology, is owned by Laurel Systems and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written consent. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service.
Certain features of the Service require payment of fees. All fees are quoted in US Dollars unless otherwise stated. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as explicitly stated in these Terms. We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days' notice. If you do not agree to the new pricing, you may cancel your subscription before the new pricing takes effect. Failure to pay fees may result in suspension or termination of your account.
We may offer a free trial or free plan with limited features. Free trials automatically convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial period ends. Free plans may be modified or discontinued at our discretion with reasonable notice. We reserve the right to limit the features, storage, or usage available under free plans.
We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime for the Service. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance. We are not liable for any damages resulting from service interruptions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Laurel Systems shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, resulting from your use or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Laurel in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Laurel Systems, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) Your Data.
Either party may terminate the Service agreement at any time. You may cancel your account from the account settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we believe your actions may cause legal liability. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will make Your Data available for export for 90 days following termination, after which it may be permanently deleted.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and, where possible, by email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you should discontinue use of the Service.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
